Sacred Vedic Arts: Pilgrimage to India

October 11-23, 2026

12 nights / 13 days

This is a spiritual sojourn that takes us deep into the heartland of North India, tracing a path through cities steeped in history and vibrant devotion. Beginning in the regal Pink City of Jaipur, we begin to uncover the original Deities of Vrindavan in their royal temple homes across Rajasthan. The journey then leads us to Agra, and the incomparable Taj Mahal. Then our focus shifts from imperial splendor to the timeless faith found in the temple towns of Braj, where every tree and rock silently echoes tales of faith, preparing the pilgrim for the ecstatic emotions of bhakti—selfless devotion in the land of Krishna.

Braj is the thousand petaled lotus playground of Lord Krishna. Our path winds through Mathura, His appearance place, Govardhan, His favorite mountain, and Vrindavan, where He spent his youth, offering countless opportunities to witness the raw, passionate expression of love for the divine. From the thousands of temples resonating with kirtans and aartis to the sacred parikrama around Govardhan Hill, this final segment is a powerful exploration of spiritual commitment. It is here, amidst the dust and devotion, that the ancient texts come alive, transforming a travel itinerary into a pilgrimage that is less about sightseeing and more about experiencing the living, breathing essence of Indian spirituality.

This retreat will be led by Vasanti Devi Dasi who has been practicing and teaching Krishna bhakti for over three decades. Vasanti is a key member of the leadership team at Sacred Vedic Arts in Miami. She has spent years being mentored by Syamarani Didi, and has traveled to India many times, an expert teacher of the stories and philosophy of bhakti yoga.
